Yesterday I was at Hindustan College for a slew of inter-collegiate competitions. I had only signed up for three, but I heard that we could participate in as many competitions as we wanted to, if we paid the registration fee (which I already had). I decided to do as many events as I could. My first event was spell bee. I messed a word up on the first round and thought I was out of the running. Little did I know, they had a bonus word. The word was pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. I thought I'd give it a shot. As the word was repeated, I tried to make note of the parts of the word. I stood up and tapped my nails along the table as I spelled the word. I missed one syllable (silico) but I got half the points, since I got the rest of the word correct. After that I entered the tiebreaker. (They didn't tell us what it was for or who won until the valedictory)

My next event was pictionary. Before that, I had some time on my hands and decided to put it to good use. Cosplay is always my signature event. I go all out for it. I knew I needed time to get dressed for it, but I also wanted to do as many events as I could. I decided to use that time in between to get partially ready. (Note, my costume was a long black dress. It's important information for later.)

After pictionary, I went to my third event, character interview. Now, this is something I've never done before. I got Cruella De Vil as my character and I was so psyched out about it. I love Cruella. I was confident I could portray her well. Now, remember my black dress, it looked like something Cruella might wear (a simple one of course). I went on stage and owned the character. I felt like it fit my attitude and I was able to be as sassy as I wanted to be, and that wouldn't be held against me.

Now, it was time for my final event. Even after multiple wardrobe malfunctions, I went out and performed what I practiced. I had a surprisingly good voice yesterday. (An evil laugh is something I always try to do, but most of the time, air gets stuck in my throat or I run out of breath. This time, I managed to pull off two perfect evil laughs)

I was waiting with bated breath throughout the valedictory. I cheered loudest for myself when I won. I won second prize in spell bee, character interview, and cosplay. Yayy!
