A Walk Along the Beach - A Poem from Four Words
A pretty girl with a frill on her dress
Walked along the shore looking for a place to rest
She walked where the sea touched the sand
A friend next to her, hand in hand
The ending of the beach approached, where the sand touched the cliffs
We sat down, our limbs stiff
Gazing off into the horizon, the girl said
’Look at all that lays ahead’
She looked down at the sand under her feet
And found a seashell, oh, what a treat
She lifted it to her ear
In it, the ocean she could hear
Fidgeting with the buttons on her dress
She wondered, ‘wouldn’t life be better if we stressed less’
Looking out at the sea and sky
She decided it was worth a try
