I Built a Legacy
A couple of days ago, I went to Hindustan College for an inter-college event. Now, I've been going to this event for the past two years, this being the third time. When I arrived, the head of the literary club, a professor, greeted me and said that she remembered me. It was really nice to see that I made enough of an impact to be remembered. Then, I participated in this event called Shipwreck. Now... a little bit of context before I continue... last year, I was in some kind of character interview, which I won, playing the character Cruella de Vil. In Shipwreck, they give you characters. When I went up to get mine, the convenor said "sorry... we don't have Cruella for you this time." That was another sign that what I did made an impact. When I finished my performance here (I was Lord Capulet this time), the judge stood up and shook my hand. He told me that it was refreshing to see my performance and that it was very nice.
You all probably know by now that my main event is cosplay/rampwalk. I am the (self-proclaimed) queen of the ramp. All through the day, people asked me if I was performing today as well, having remembered my performance as Maleficent last year. I assured them that I was and that I had a few new tricks up my sleeve.
My rampwalk partner and I had put a lot of practice into some flip-like stunts to incorporate into our walk. I was Nyx, queen of night, and he was Lucifer, the fallen angel. These were things I had never seen done in a college event in Chennai before. I was determined to set the trend and raise the standard. That was exactly what we did. The crowd went wild when we pulled off our three stunts with perfect precision. I was so proud of us! This was a perfect end to my BA rampwalk career.
I built a legacy that can't be undone and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Rampwalk is what I love and I'd do it every chance I got.
(Also... for the first time ever, MCC won the rolling trophy. [The event has only been happening for the past 2 years, and we have always come second.] Another record we set!)
