Role Model
As you probably know by now, I returned to MCC this week. When I entered my juniors' classroom, a bunch of the girls came running up to me. They told me how they missed me and invited me to sit with them for a while. Obviously, I did. They fed me idly with chicken gravy, which was delicious.
As I was talking, one of the girls said that I was her inspiration and that she wanted to be like me. I was a little surprised. No one had ever said that to me before. I wondered what I did to deserve that, and soon realized that I did. It was really nice to hear that (that is an understatement).
It reminded me of all the times I've talked about wanting to be an inspiration to someone, and it made me feel really good that I did it. It might not be a big deal, but I've always wanted to be that kind of senior. The one who helps out in times of need. The one they can look at and say, "I want to be like you."
I thought it was so amazing that I just had to write about it. I think it is one of my greatest achievements.
