College Level Online Classes

We've all gone through COVID, so we know what online classes are. However, my class and I never thought we'd have to go through them again in college.

So, for context, there is a conference going on in college, so the management decided to have online classes, so they could make sure to meet the required working days. At first, I was kinda looking forward to it, because it meant I got to rest and recuperate from my travels. Then... I remembered how it was back in 10th grade, when I had online classes all day. The days when "children, can you hear me?" and "why are you so quiet?" were the regular. Listening to those familiar lines was both comforting and jarring.

I prefer offline classes simply because they let me interject in between, during discussions. However, if it's an online class, I have to wait and ask if the teacher can hear me, then talk, which pretty much ruins the flow of their lecture and what I wanted to say. Second, I like being able to see the professor, because they do so much more than just talk in person. There are little quirks and gestures that help me understand and connect better. Now... this one is a little childish, but free periods are also better offline, as it lets you hang out or roam around the campus. When you're at home, obviously, you can sleep or eat or binge-watch a show, but you can do that after college too, right?

Anyway... this experience is certainly interesting, but if given the choice, I don't think anyone of us would want to do it again.
