Memories we Made

What did I do to be born for you
The moments we've cherished
The way you flash your smile when you see me in the morning 
What I wouldn't do to see that again

Those cheesy chicken strips we pine for
What I wouldn't do to share those with you one more time
In your eyes, I see nothing but truth 
And unconditional love that knows no bounds

Through texts exchanged, we grew closer
A journey that can't be reversed 
Watching ducks shake their tails
You avert your eyes as soon as you see a cat
Smiles dancing in your eyes

In your arms, I found my home away from home. 
Safe and sound, protected from all harm
In your arms, my worries skip away
I am a princess in your realm,
My greatest treasure is you. 

Our treks and tree climbs
All worth it when we reach the summit
And sigh in relief, looking at each other
We reached peace,

To which we were each other's key
The way that we explored the city
The moments alone we stole
Eyes darting around 
I would die a million deaths for just one more

The rush we felt on stage
The laughter that preceded it
Your embrace after the curtain dropped
What I wouldn't do to perform with you again

Here's to the memories we made
The things we saw
The laughter we shared and tears we shed
Hand in hand, the adventures we had

I hope it lasts another life
If it's up to me, there's only one I would choose
After all, this wasn't a choice of ours
It was that of fate and destiny intertwined.

    This is, without a doubt, a heartwarming piece—an ode to the whispering heart that offers solace, safety, and love. You ought to write many more such poems. Were it within my power, I would devote myself to crafting countless lyrical verses, drawing upon the beauty of your gift.

A Tribute to My Seniors

  Before I start, I’d like to say that this is a very personal post, dedicated to a few very special individuals.  Anderlin, Sharan, Shane, and Mugunthan.  Technically they are my seniors, but they have become something more. These guys are the reason I made it through the year and have become irreplaceable brother figures to me. I may not call them ‘Anna,’ but the respect they earned from me is immeasurable. I still remember the first time I saw them. I was at an ethnic walk practice. It was only my second day there and I wasn’t very confident yet.  The four of them weren’t around on the first day of practice.  That’s when they arrived. They appeared, walking in a straight line. They looked so majestic and powerful that they scared me. They came to stand in front of me and I remember chills running down my spine. Katha Utsav @MCC

On the 28th and 29th of December, Katha Publishers conducted a workshop in the MRF Innovation Park at MCC. As soon as I knew this workshop was coming up, I knew I wanted to go. My professor told me how prestigious this workshop was. I didn't totally believe him until I saw the crowds that arrived at MCC.  This workshop was intended for schoolchildren, but we MCCians had a special session since we were hosting it. I was also a volunteer for the workshop. My Saturday morning started pretty early. I rushed to campus by 7:30 and sprung into action. The day started out with decorating the venue. Soon after, parents and their children started arriving. There were people from out of state. They had come just for the workshop. I sprung into action with the rest of the team, guiding children and their parents around the building.  Once everyone was settled, it was time for our session. I loved the sessions.
