Once upon a time
My life was normal 
Nothing out of place
Just me and my girls

Ouch! I bumped into someone
I apologize and run off
A black t-shirt
Blue jeans

Tousled hair 
A smile that would light up the whole town
I didn't notice this then 
Just another guy 

Hours to days to weeks
Watching him from afar 
Pushed together
But we're just friends

His smile brings me butterflies
Heat runs up my spine at his gaze
Blush creeping across my cheeks
Who is this guy?

Exploring and investigating
Learning about him 
Why though? 
Why do I even care? 

Ohh... 
I like him
Just a crush? 
Or something more

I bump into him again
His hands on my shoulders, steadying me
His chocolate brown eyes
Looking in mine

I knew what it was
I was in love 
What about him? 
Am I cursed to watch from afar

And so I do 
Observing his quirks
Every change and mood
I want to know more

His musical voice approaches me one day 
It says he wants to know me too
Could this be true
This is what I've been waiting for 

Is it actually happening
My world turns upside down
He slips his hand into mine 
Off into the sunset we go

The day I've longed for has come 
And gone
My story is mine to write
Ours

A Tribute to My Seniors

  Before I start, I’d like to say that this is a very personal post, dedicated to a few very special individuals.  Anderlin, Sharan, Shane, and Mugunthan.  Technically they are my seniors, but they have become something more. These guys are the reason I made it through the year and have become irreplaceable brother figures to me. I may not call them ‘Anna,’ but the respect they earned from me is immeasurable. I still remember the first time I saw them. I was at an ethnic walk practice. It was only my second day there and I wasn’t very confident yet.  The four of them weren’t around on the first day of practice.  That’s when they arrived. They appeared, walking in a straight line. They looked so majestic and powerful that they scared me. They came to stand in front of me and I remember chills running down my spine. Katha Utsav @MCC

On the 28th and 29th of December, Katha Publishers conducted a workshop in the MRF Innovation Park at MCC. As soon as I knew this workshop was coming up, I knew I wanted to go. My professor told me how prestigious this workshop was. I didn't totally believe him until I saw the crowds that arrived at MCC.  This workshop was intended for schoolchildren, but we MCCians had a special session since we were hosting it. I was also a volunteer for the workshop. My Saturday morning started pretty early. I rushed to campus by 7:30 and sprung into action. The day started out with decorating the venue. Soon after, parents and their children started arriving. There were people from out of state. They had come just for the workshop. I sprung into action with the rest of the team, guiding children and their parents around the building.  Once everyone was settled, it was time for our session. I loved the sessions.
