Let the World Burn

Yes. I did listen to this song before writing. But, there was only one thing I could visualize when I was listening to it while looking at the lyrics to the song. I could imagine a powerful and dominant villain. He was looking down at the girl he loved and was saying that he would let the world burn to save her. I pictured the girl looking very feminine and vulnerable. She was a pretty innocent girl who didn't know much about the world. All she knew was this guy - the villain. Then, the villain is willing to let the entire world go up in flames to be with this girl. She became the most important thing in his life. (Yes, this does sound like a dark romance story.)

The story I see in the song, however, is a little different. (It might not be what the singer is actually trying to say. This is just what I see in the lyrics.) I see a powerful man, maybe a CEO or mafia boss. He's someone who doesn't believe in love until he meets her. He says that he shouldn't have fallen in love with her and that there's no way he can let her go now. Now, we are back to letting the world burn for this girl. So, let's imagine that there's something that demands his attention. It could be disastrous if he doesn't give it his attention. But, the girl is calling as well. He would let it all go. He would let his business go down in flames for her.

I think this kind of love is really special. (Some people might think it's toxic, but I think it's magical.) Imagine loving someone so much, or being loved by someone to this extent. It is all-consuming. It also shows the extent of one's love. A hero would sacrifice you to save the world, but a villain would let the world burn to save you. That's the kind of love I'm talking about.
