Why does a woman need a male best friend?
Most of my best friends are guys. I have always felt like there is less competition and judgment in a male-female friendship. Most friendships between girls have some level of competition between them, whether it’s over something as trivial as looks or something bigger. Some women pretend like they care, but deep down, they just want to get ahead of you. On the other hand, I have found friendships between men and women to be pure.
A male best friend is
someone who would be the first person to give you practical solutions to your
problems. He will tell you what’s right and what’s wrong. He might sound harsh
and you might think that he doesn’t care about you whereas in reality, he cares
deeply and wants to make sure you know what you’re doing.
Male friends aren’t going
to be jealous of you if you succeed. They genuinely revel in your success and
comfort you through your failures. They also are really good secret keepers and
can comfort you when you need it. They can help you put things into perspective
and make sure you’re thinking clearly. Your male best friend will always be
protective over you and unconditionally supportive. He would never let you make
bad decisions about the other men in your life, unlike some of your female friends
who would give you insincere advice because they are secretly jealous of you.
On a less serious note, sharing your secrets with male best friends is recommended because they don't listen to half of what you say. They don't understand to another part and they forget the rest. (Sorry, I couldn't help quoting am Instagram reel here). In all seriousness, men are really good secret keepers.
Male friendships have considerably less drama compared to female ones. When you’re with your male friends, you can just let yourself go. You can be free without worrying about being judged about something that you say or do. You deserve the respite from the drama. Take it!
Having a male companion is one of the most cherishing gifts ever. They push you to become a better version of yourself. (No offense to female companionship though)
