Damon Salvatore: Hero or villain.
Well, that is certainly one of the most controversial questions. Damon Salvatore is one of the 3 main characters in the show, The Vampire Diaries. He is shown in contrast to his brother Stefan Salvatore. In the first half of the first season, Damon is portrayed as the villain, but with his looks and style, people couldn’t help but fall for him.
When Damon is first introduced, it's clear that Stefan is the good
brother while Damon is the bad one. The audience can't help but be captivated
by him, but it's impossible to excuse his villainous deeds. It’s also clear
that everything he does, he does in the name of love. His love for Katherine is
undeniable.
Damon Salvatore has a complex personality, complete with many admirable traits and serious flaws as well. He is charismatic, loyal, protective, and humorous. On the other hand, Damon is extremely impulsive, selfish, violent, manipulative and volatile. Most of the time, Damon can’t figure out whether he wants to be the hero or the villain. In the first couple of seasons, he has a lot of trouble trying to ‘be good’ for Elena. He had one of the greatest character arcs and turned out to be one of the greatest heroes of the show.
Damon was constantly being compared to his brother, even during his human life. It started with his father and then with Katherine and then Elena. This led him to develop an inferiority complex. His actions sometimes go against his interests. His disregard for Bonnie and Jeremy led to Elena hating and alienating him, which he hated and had to work hard to fix. He has a good heart and was always willing to put his life on the line for the (few) people he loved. He is a great friend who'll do anything for them even to the extent of endangering himself. He proves this after he makes peace with Bonnie and Caroline. He becomes an amazing brother and friend.
I am a complete Damon fan girl and unshakably believe he is a hero.
He's definitely a hero🥹🤌🏻
ReplyDeleteHe's is a hero..no dbt🔥
ReplyDeleteSounds like Damon turns out to be a hero huh? Well I should've known I guess. In my opinion villains always stand out to me because I believe villains are just heroes whose stories remain unspoken.
ReplyDeleteA tyrant hero with a witty smile🥶🥵
